In view of the Covid-19 pandemic and tightening of the Covid-19 restrictions in Singapore, it’s only natural that some people are feeling a little “kiasi”.

An auntie took the term “kiasi” and “kiasu” onto a whole other level, taking the extra step (or steps) to ensure her protection from the coronavirus.

She was seen wearing a bunch of masks on her face, probably for 100 times filtration and 200 times protection.

S’PORE RECEIVES ABOUT 25 ARRIVALS FROM INDIA EACH DAY

In a joint statement released by the Ministry of Transport (MOT), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and Ministry of Manpower (MOM), they said that India has banned all international passenger flights to and from Singapore since March 2020.

The statement said that on average, there are about 180 departures for India from Singapore each day, and also about 25 arrivals from India to Singapore daily.

The vast majority of the arrivals accounts for Singapore citizens and PRs who are returning from India.

Singapore Airlines can only operate cargo flights to India.

The only passenger flights between Singapore and India are the Vande Bharat flights charted by the Indian government to bring back Indian citizens under the Vande Bharat mission, an evacuation programme to repatriate stranded Indian citizens.

The Indian government allows those who need to return to Singapore to do so via outbound flights as they are the only available passenger flights into Singapore, and they are operated only by Indian carriers designated by the Indian government with the approval of the Singapore government.

All of these flights take place at Terminal 1.
