Masks on Public Transport
Some kind person help me understand this rationale behind ‘mandatory masks in public transport ‘ when I’m mostly more exposed to more and more people outside public transport?
I always adhere to the rules (no intention to trigger folks that I am a rogue one) , but I feel it is not making sense to me.
Throughout the day I come in close vicinity of 100s of people (workplace, malls, cafes, residence area etc) while I only come in contact with merely (at most) 30s of total headcount when I take bus to commute to work. Where there are no masks mandatory in former case, it is mandatory in later case.
I’m curious to listen from others what do they think?
I do not like to keep a mask handy when I want to alight a bus/MRT, it causes me great trouble as I always forget to wear it when I’m outside and I decide to catch bus/MRT
Fog on glasses is pain in the ass due to bus aircon. I mean, whenever I come out of bus, I’m temporarily blind lol ).
Appreciate all the reasonable comments!! Looking forward to it.
- Enclosed space mah
- Bear in mind it’s also a good measure to keep people working in public transport safe whilst doing their jobs, such as the bus uncles/aunties, taxi drivers etc.
It was a huge problem in Adelaide earlier this year, friends dad is a bus driver and many of them got Covid multiple times from passengers not wearing masks.
- To protect bus drivers, transport personnel and Healthcare workers . If they collapse, our ecosystem will also suffer. These are essential workers. Please do your part to keep them safe so they can keep the rest of Singapore functioning!
