According to SCDF, the blaze started in a bedroom and firefighters had to carry out a forcible entry into the unit before extinguishing the flames using two water jets.

The fire also spread damage to the living room, while an air-conditioning compressor on the 6th floor caught fire and was put out shortly after.

As a precaution, 28 residents were evacuated by the Police and SCDF.

Two people were assessed at the scene. One was taken to Singapore General Hospital for smoke inhalation, while another was conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital after experiencing chest discomfort.
