In an unexpected turn of events on the morning of August 20. At about 6am, a brawl erupted along the bustling Orchard Road at the Concorde Hotel and Shopping Mall, resulting in one man killed after being fatally injured, according to Shin Min Daily News.
Fight involving more than 10 people
More than ten individuals found themselves embroiled in a violent altercation that morning, resulting in the unfortunate death of one person who sustained fatal injuries during the fracas.
Promptly responding to the scene, the police initiated an investigation into the incident. Their presence was evident as they cordoned off the two entrances to the hotel and even blocked access to the second floor.
Number tags were also seen being places around the crime scene to identify potential pieces of evidence as investigators, donning gloves on their hands and feet, went about analysing the crime scene. Bloodstained tissues were also seen on the ground.
A security guard who spoke to SMDN also revealed that the police had requested for CCTV footage of the area from the Concorde Hotel.
A History of Trouble
According to the security guard, he told SMDN that the area where the fight occurred has been a hotbed of trouble in the past.
Due to the presence of bars in the vicinity, altercations and disturbances have become commonplace occurrences. This paints a picture of a location where tempers can quickly flare, often fueled by alcohol.
There are often fights in the area
An employee of a catering company arrived at the scene early in the morning, only to be greeted by a swarm of police vehicles and officers. He recounted to reporters how the area, particularly the bar on the upper floor where the incident unfolded, is frequently marred by noise and disturbances.
He said that the area is often very noisy every night, and that there are often fights breaking out int he area because of the bars in the area.
