
Budget airline Jetstar is facing a crisis after pilots and ground staff goes on strike. The staff are unhappy with the current working conditions as some of them claimed that they do not have adequate rest between shifts.

The staff that went on strike demanded the following from the airline
- Salary increase.
- Jetstar to meet higher safety standards
- More rest breaks during the shift.
- A guaranteed 12-hour break before shifts.
- 30-hour workweeks.
According to Australian media, the amount of staff that went on strike is more than 250 mostly consisting of baggage handlers.
Jetstar has refused to meet the demands of the staff that went on strike as the demand is equivalent to a 12% increase in operating cost.
