11 WOMEN CAUGHT AT TEBAN GARDEN ROAD WITH ILLEGAL GAMBLING

On 4 February 2021 in the late afternoon, 11 women were caught allegedly gambling in a residential unit along Teban Gardens Road. A woman 75 years-old was caught with organizing the activity and will be thoroughly investigated by the police. While the remaining 10 women were caught gambling in a common gambling house.

On top of gambling charges, the 11 women will also be facing charges regarding the breach of safety measures.

According to the police, it is an offence to use a house to organise a common gaming house under the ” Common Gaming House Act” carrying a fine between $5,000 and $50,000, and a jail term of not more than 3 years.

While the offence of gambling in a gaming house carries a fine of not more than $5,000 or a jail term of not more than six months or both.
