11th DEATH IN SINGAPORE, 4 MORE CLUSTER IDENTIFIED

According to the latest media release an 11th patient has died from complications due to COVID-19 infection on Friday 17th April 2020, said the Ministry of Health.

The 95-year0old man died on 17 April 2020 (Friday), he was tested positive for the coronavirus on the 13th April 2020

  • 4 Sungei Kadut Street 2.

New cases: 623

  • Imported: 1
  • Cases in community: 27 (22 S’poreans/PRs, 4 work passes, 1 visitor)
  • Work Permit holders (residing outside dormitories): 37
  • Work Permit holders (residing in dormitories): 558

Of new cases, 69% are linked to known clusters, the rest are pending contact tracing

Total cases: 5050

  • Hospitalised: 2113 (22 in ICU)
  • In community facilities: 2218
  • Fatalities: 11
  • Total discharged: 708 (Discharged today: 25)

Note: Yesterday’s report highlighted 48 community cases. Subsequent contact tracing found that 22 cases were residing in dormitories ➡ there were only 26 cases in the community yesterday.

Passing of 95 year old due to COVID-19

A 95 year-old male Singapore Citizen has passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection on 17 Apr. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 13 Apr. Raffles Hospital has reached out to his family and is extending assistance.
