14 Y.O BOY HIT BY CAR OUTSIDE ENTRANCE OF SCHOOL, SHOE FLEW AWAY – SENT TO HOSPITAL

In a heart-wrenching incident that unfolded on Wednesday, October 4th, a shocking collision occurred outside a school entrance at Lorong 6 Toa Payoh.

The accident involved a 14-year-old boy who was cycling at the time, and a silver-coloured car.

A Morning Shattered

On the morning of October 4th, at about 8:45 am, the young cyclist was navigating the vicinity of a school entrance in Lorong 6 Toa Payoh when a silver car allegedly collided with him.

Rescuers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were seen in photos shared on social media attending to the stricken boy, who was lying down on the road.

He was then sent to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital following the accident.

The photographs shared by SGRV reveal the severity of the incident. The young cyclist, wearing a red shirt, is seen lying on his side in front of the car.

The impact of the collision not only broke his bicycle but also flung it, along with one of his shoes, several meters away from the scene.

In addition to the young cyclist’s injuries, the car involved in the collision also suffered significant damage. A photograph shows that the car’s hood was dented, and the windshield was cracked, further emphasizing the intensity of the accident.

Similar accidents

A 7-year-old boy was allegedly hit by a mini school bus at Bukit Batok and got dragged on the road for almost 5 metres.

According to Lianhe Zaobao, the boy was purportedly crossing the road at the time, in front of the mini school bus, when he got run over.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that on 27 March at about 2 pm, they received a call for help after an accident that took place near Block 386 Bukit Batok West Avenue 5.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) added that the accident involved a pedestrian and a minibus, and a 7-year-old boy was sent to the National University Hospital conscious.

A 57-year-old man who is the driver of the minibus is also assisting the police with their investigations into the accident, which is ongoing.
