
According to the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), 162 individuals were arrested between 14 Sep to 25 Sep 2020 in a CNB operation.
Drugs Seized:
- 870g of heroin
- 586g of ‘Ice’
- 176g of ketamine
- 47g of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS)
- 322 ‘Ecstacy’ tablets
- 203 Erimin-5 tablets
- 13 bottles containing GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate)
In total, the drugs are estimated to be worth $260,500.
During the 2 weeks operation, a 14-year-old girl was arrested and she has become the youngest female suspected drug abusers ever arrested.
On 14 Sep 2020, a 38-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in drug trafficking activities. A total of ten ‘Ecstasy’ tablets and 3g of powdered mixture, believed to contain a mixture of ‘Ice’ and ‘Ecstasy were seized.
Another 30-year-old woman was also arrested after the man brought the officers to his hideout. 322g of ‘Ice’, 148g of ketamine, 185 ‘Ecstasy’ tablets, 88 Erimin-5 tablets, and 11g of powdered mixture, believed to contain a mix of ‘Ice’ and ‘Ecstasy’ were seized.
A total of $20,000 were also seized from the hideout.
On 24 Sep 2020, CNB officers arrested 4 men and 1 woman in a hotel located at beach road.
A total of 58g of heroin, 133g of ‘Ice’, 104 ‘Ecstasy’ tablets and one Erimin-5 tablet were seized.
During the operation, the CNB officer found a 12-year-old boy who believed to the son of two of their suspects were present at the hotel room. The boy was later handed over to his next-of-kin.
Investigations are ongoing.
