14-YEAR-OLD KID IN “HOT WATER” AFTER SCAMMING $370 ONLINE

A case was logged with Singapore Police Force after the victim in the incident did not receive her virtual game item bought from Carousell.

After the funds of $370 were transferred to the scammer’s account, the Carousell merchant went missing and remain uncontactable without delivering the promised product.

The Police arrested a 14-year-old boy after suspecting that he was involved in the cheating case. Tanglin Police Division conducted investigations and established the identity of the boy and believed that he is also involved with another online scam cases.

The Police are currently investigating the incident.

Always think twice before transferring money to purchase something online. It is best to purchase from reputable merchants.
