16 Y.O BOY GETS PROBATION AFTER ROBBING A STORE WITH KNIFE

A 16-year-old teenager was sentenced to 27 months of probation after he was found guilty of committing an armed robbery.

Court documents revealed that the teenager has documented all the details about the robbery beforehand. He wrote down in his notebook about what he should wear, what weapon to use and even what items to take.

The robbery took place on 14 Feb 2020 at New Econ Lin Da Minimart located at Block 110 Lengkong Tiga about 5.20 am. When the teenager was at the store he pointed his knife at the cashier who was standing outside the store. Being afraid for his life, the cashier asked the teenager to go into the store himself. The cashier then ran to another store to seek help.

The teenager then took 42 packs of cigarettes from the drawer as he couldn’t access the cash register. After committing the crime, the teenager went home and kept all the items beside his bed.

The police were later alerted by the store owner and the teenager was arrest at his home shortly after the report was made.

According to the law, anyone convicted of armed robbery could face a maximum penalty of 14 years of jail with a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane.
