
A 16-year-old boy suffered a cardiac arrest six days after receiving the first dose of Pfizer’s crown disease vaccine in the gym shortly after lifting weights. The Ministry of Health and National University Hospital is investigating whether it is related to acute severe myocarditis.
The Ministry of Health issued a statement today (July 5) that the authorities received a notification on July 3 that a 16-year-old Singaporean teenager passed out at home in the morning and was sent to the emergency department of Khoo Tak Pat Hospital in the evening. He was transferred to the intensive care unit of the National University Hospital.
The teenager received the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on June 27, The teenager was assessed by medical staff that he is suitable for the vaccination. He was observed for 30 minutes after the vaccination, and he was in good condition. He was still healthy five days after the vaccination.
The Ministry of Health revealed that before he passed out on July 3, he lifted weights in the gym and used very heavy weights during training, which exceeded his own weight.
