According to a court session on 4th January 2020, a 17-year-old boy had sexual intercourse with his 15-year-old girlfriend and made her pregnant.
It happened at a staircase
In Feb 2019, the couple met as they were studying in the same school and began dating a month later, he then brought up the topic of sexual intercourse and asked if the 15-year-old wanted to mate.
Although the victim continuously declined she finally gave way in May 2019 and they finally did it in a staircase located in West Mall.
Again they did it in December 2019, but they did not use any protection. Their relationship ended days after.
How it came to light
The parents of the 15-year-old noticed that her daughter had stopped using pads and her stomach was bigger day by day. They then took her to a hospital and found out that she was pregnant and later gave birth.
Both families did not want to raise the child and the child ended up being put up for adoption.
Sentenced
The boy was sentenced to probation and the family had to pay a bond of S$5,000 for him and he has to maintain good behaviour for 15 months. He was also given a sentence of 60 hours of community service.
