The Singapore Police Force said in a statement yesterday (5 May) that a 19-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly scamming graphic card buyers on carousell.
The police said that they received several reports from the alleged victims who placed orders with the man on carousell.
They allegedly made payment to the man via PayNow for the graphics cards but never received their items.
He was identified by the police and arrested yesterday, and preliminary investigations revealed that he is allegedly involved in at least 9 other cases, with at least $12,000 being lost by the victims.
He is due to be charged in court today with cheating and faces a possibility of a jail term of up to 10 years along with a fine upon conviction.
