19 Y.O ARRESTED FOR IMPERSONATING SAFE DISTANCE OFFICER AT JURONG

According to the Police media release, a 19-year-old man was arrested for a case of cheating, two others men that are 20 and 35 year-old are also assisting with the Police in this investigation.

The Police were alerted on the 17 October 2020 against three men who are allegedly impersonating safe distancing officer at Jurong East shopping mall located at 3 Gateway Drive.

The 3 men claimed that they are from an organisation, Investigations later revealed they are from an organisation named “SG United”.

After receiving the report, Clementi Police Division was able to identify the 3 men and none of the men are hired by any government agencies.

Investigations are ongoing.

If the 3 men are found guilty of cheating by impersonation, they will face jail term of up to five years and/or fine.

The police reminded the public that EOs and ambassadors can be identified by their Safe Distancing Enforcement Officer and Ambassador passes, or the SG Clean Ambassador pass, when they are performing safe distancing duties.
