19 Y.O INVESTIGATED FOR FILING FALSE POLICE REPORT

A 19-year-old teenager has been investigated by the police for his suspected involvement in lodging a false police report.

On the 02 Sep 2020, at around 4.45 pm the teenager had lodged a police report claiming that his motorcycle had been stolen on 31 Aug 2020 along Choa Chu Kang Street 51. However, through investigation, the police found several inconsistencies in the teenager’s account.

It is believed that the teenager had sold off his motorcycle instead of been stolen.

Investigations are ongoing.

According to the law, anyone found guilty of providing false information to a public servant could be jailed for up to 12 months, fine $5,000 or both.
