A 2.5-meter python has been spotted at a residential area located at Jurong West. It was spotted by a resident who was taking his night walk on 13 Sep 2020.

The NParks was alerted in regards to the sighting of the snake. Thankfully, the python was successfully recused by the NParks staff. It has been relocated to the zoo by the authorities.

The python was estimated to be weighing around 8Kg and 2.5 meters long.
In the resident post:
“A strolling Snake
Usual strolling at night. On the way back, spotted a 2.5-meter python snake also strolling at HDB area. Immediately called NParks to catch the snake, while monitoring its movement, and warning the passerby not to get near. Waited 30 min for the officer arrival, by then the snake camouflaged into the bush and took sometimes for them to identify the whereabouts (kudos and thanks to their expertise and professional dedication not to take it lightly). The two men had a tug of war with the snake and finally caught it (see the 2 min video). Was told the snake will be sent to the zoo, I will visit it in my next zoo visit. The snake is approx 8 kg (I weighted it) and 2.5 meters Long- good to catch rats and possible to endanger toddler.
Thanks to the 2 brothers who stayed back to evacuate the public danger as well.”
