𝟮 𝗵𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁…On 2 February 2024, ICA officers at Tuas Checkpoint foiled two smuggling attempts of contraband items via inbound Malaysia-registered lorries within less than 4 hours.
Case #1Our officers noticed anomalies in the scanned image of the lorry loaded with a consignment of bars and rods of aluminum alloy. Upon further checks, our officers uncovered a total of 9790 pieces of assorted e-vaporisers hidden in the lorry cabin. Case #2Our officers noticed anomalies in the scanned image of the lorry loaded with a consignment of security seals.
Upon further checks, our officers uncovered a total of 6224 assorted e-vaporisers hidden in boxes at the middle section of the container. Both cases were referred to the Health Sciences Authority for further investigations.
