2 MEN ARRESTED FOR STEALING MOTORBIKES @ JURONG WEST CARPARK, CAUGHT WITHIN 11 HRS

Two 23-year-old men were arrested for allegedly stealing a motorcycle at a multi-storey carpark in Jurong West.

The Singapore Police Force was alerted to a stolen motorcycle at the carpark along Jurong West Street 93, on 6 January.

Police officers from Jurong and Clementi Police Divisions ascertained the identities of the two suspects through the use of police cameras and ground enquiries.

They were subsequently arrested within 11 hours of the report being made, and the stolen motorcycle was then recovered.

They were charged in court earlier today (7 January) with theft of a motor vehicle with common intention, under Section 379A, Section 34 of the Penal Code 1871.

The Singapore Police Force urged motorcycle owners to park their vehicles in well-lit areas and install anti-theft alarm systems and make sure it is well maintained.

They also advised motorists to remove their cash cards and other valuables from their vehicles before leaving, and not to leave their keys in the vehicles.
