2 MEN CHARGED FOR VIOLENT ASSAULT ON MAN AT CEMETERY

Two men are accused of assault on man at cemetery that left him with severe injuries. The assault left him with wounds including facial lacerations, puncture wounds on his legs and a deformity on his arm.

Andre Chan and Gervin Wong were charged on Tuesday for the assault. The attack took place at Choa Chu Keng Cemetery at 3am on Sunday.

Chen is accused of using a knuckleduster to attack the victim while Wong allegedly used a metal baton to attack his body and his head.

Police were alerted at 5.40am. The victim was taken to hospital while conscious and the attackers were arrested within 10 hours of the report being lodged.

Gervin Wong faces more than 20 other charges which did not include charges from this current case. The charges consist of hitting a man at Studio M hotel with an extendable baton, slashing two men with a knife with several other accomplices, drug consumption and various traffic offences.

The police said they do not tolerate “such brazen acts of violence and blatant disregard of the law”.
