In a fatal accident in a restaurant in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, a two-year-old boy was suspected of kicking a table when throwing a tantrum.
As a result, he fell together with the baby chair and he slammed into the ground and hit his head on first impact. He was sent to the hospital but pronounced dead.
The accident happened in a restaurant in Skudai Wufu City, Johor Bahru, at around 3 pm on Tuesday (October 4). Johor police said in a statement that the boy’s parents took the boy to a restaurant and sat him in a baby chair.
“During the meal, the baby boy kicked the table because of his tantrum, causing the baby chair he was sitting on to fall down and his head hit the ground.”
It is understood that the baby chair involved is a wooden chair.
The police also said that the waiter at the scene saw the baby boy first burst into tears and then lost consciousness. The parents then rushed him to a nearby private clinic, but the doctor at the clinic suggested that the parents take the child to the hospital as soon as possible based on the seriousness of the child’s injury.
“The parents sent the child to a private hospital in Butri, Iskandar, and it was later confirmed that the child had died of serious injuries.” The police also said that so far the case did not involve criminal elements, so the case was classified as a “sudden death case”.
