At least 20 people have fallen victim to such frauds thus far.

In such circumstances, victims would stumble across social media postings or Facebook adverts encouraging the purchase of these recently introduced electrical devices at a price lower than the approved retail price.

Victims who click on these posts will be led to the in-app messaging or WhatsApp to contact with the sellers. During their chat, the sellers would say that there are limited supplies and would ask the victims to make an upfront payment or a deposit before the electronic gadget was delivered.

Following that, victims would be instructed to transfer funds to bank accounts belonging to unknown individuals. Victims would realize they had been duped.
