20 Y.O ARRESTED, YP SELLS K-POP GOODS BUT RAN OFF WITH MONEY

A 20-year-old woman has been detained for her alleged participation in a series of cheating cases.

On August 14, 2021, the Police got a report from a victim who claimed to have been duped by a Telegram vendor selling K-Pop goods. The victim reportedly did not get the merchandises promised after paying using PayLah.

Officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division discovered the woman’s identify and detained her on August 16, 2021, after conducting investigations. According to preliminary investigations, the lady is suspected of being engaged in numerous other similar cheating incidents.

The lady will be prosecuted with cheating under Penal Code Chapter 224, Section 420. The crime carries a penalty of up to 10 years in jail and a fine.
