This robbery occurred at around 10:25 pm on July 13 2021, along Gerald Drive near Yio Chu Kang.

The 20-year-old young man posted on the Internet claiming that he has a watch worth SGD$100,000 for sale and then asked the buyer to bring cash to the deal.

Tong researched online and look for models that are expensive, he then listed a Patek Philippe Nautilus on Carousell with a slightly lower market price. A 33-year-old Vietnamese national was interested for the deal and they arrange for a meet up at Gerald Drive.

The victim prepared SGD$100,000 in cash and place it in a bag and walked toward the designated meeting place. He then sends a text message to inform the 20-year-old that he has arrived.

After meeting up with the victim, he use his knife to attack the victim which caused a laceration on the victim’s face while trying to grab one of the bags containing $50,000 in cash.

After failing to rob the man, the teen ran off to his E-bike only get arrested two days later.
