20 Y.O WOMAN WHO STABBED TEEN WITH PARANG RECEIVES ONLY PROBATION

Shahira Nadira Mohammad Rudyn, 20, was sentenced to 21 months probation and a total of 80 hours of community service on Thursday (June 11) after stabbing and slashing another teen at Yishun Park last year.

She will also be under curfew and will remain indoors from 10pm to 6am. Her parents posted a bond of $5000 to ensure her good behaviour. She was assessed and was found to be suitable for probation as she has now moved in with her father.

She has no previous criminal history and the injuries suffered by the victim were not very serious. She pleaded guilty of causing hurt to the victim with a stabbing instrument.

The incident happened due to a Twitter post which was posted by the vicitm. She has not made any restitution for the victim’s medical expenses which cost $1032.

Those convicted of such an offence can be jailed up to seven years, fined, caned, or any combination of the three. W
