A 20-year-old man was charged for assault on the 21 May 2020, He was sentenced to 6 months at the Reformative Training Centre (RTC).
According to the media release, The 20-year-old and 3 others had violently assaulted another man out of jealousy. The victim suffered from multiple facial fractures and requires plastic surgery.
The incident was triggered after the jealous man found out that his girlfriend is still in contact with her ex-boyfriend. The jealous man insisted on her girlfriend to arrange a meetup with her ex-boyfriend at Vivo City.
During the meetup, the man and his friends violently assaulted the victim in the toilet. After the assault, the man and his friends took a photo of the victim covering in blood.
The man later gave the victim a sum of $ 20,000 as compensation.
