
The Singapore Customs said in a media released that they seized more than 2,100 cartons of duty unpaid cigarettes during an operation at Choa Chu Kang Avenue 5.
The operation was conducted at a multi storey carpark and 2 men were arrested.
Customs officers observed as several boxes that were wrapped in black trash bags from a van was transfered into a car parked next to it.
The officers then moved into to check the vehicles and found 2,117 cartons and 126 packets of duty cigarettes in the black trash bags.
The two suspects, aged 33 and 38, were subsequently arrested.
Cash amounting to S$6,240 was also seized, along with the car and van as well.
