22 Y.O ARRESTED AFTER OUTRAGE OF MODESTY INCIDENT AT JOO KOON MRT

The Police have arrested a 22-year-old male suspect for his suspected involvement in a case of Outrage of Modesty.

On 1 December 2017, a 39-year-old woman reported to the Police that she was molested whilst walking down the staircase at a MRT station.

Through extensive ground enquiries and the aid of CCTV footages, the Police established the identity of the suspect and arrested him on 6 January 2018 at Joo Koon MRT station.

Investigations against the suspect are ongoing. Anyone convicted for the offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 is liable for a jail term of up to 2 years, or with fine, caning, or with any combination of such punishments, upon conviction.
