A 22-year-old man in Malaysia, Danial Ahmad Ali, got married to his 48-year-old wife, Jamilah Mohd, who was his Bahasa Melayu teacher when he was in secondary three, according to Harian Metro.

They first met back in 2016 when he was 15 years old and she was 41 years old, when the latter was assigned to Danial’s class to teach Bahasa Melayu.

He said that he didn’t expect to be attracted to his teacher and that their relationship at the time was strictly teacher-student and nothing else.

Jamilah taught his class for about a year and when he was in secondary 4, they only interacted with each other whenever they met in the school’s staff room.

When Danial was in secondary 5, Jamilah wished him a happy birthday and it was then that he started wanting to get to know her better.

Danial said that ever since then, they got close and he developed feelings for her and wanted to get close to his teacher.

He then confessed to Jamilah one day but she rejected him, saying that she was his teacher.

But Danial refused to give up and kept on calling and messaging Jamilah until she stopped responding to him, and Danial ended up going to her residential area without knowing her address, managing to find her house, which he attributed to “fate”.

He told her how he felt and would continuously show up at her home to show how “serious” he was.

He added that she continued rejecting him because she didn’t know how long it would last, and that she had only been focused on her work after divorcing her ex-husband in 2007.

Danial persisted with her efforts until Jamilah eventually accepted him, and she said that she can’t help it because God had appointed him as her soulmate.

They then agreed to get married in 2019 after getting the approval of their respective families but it was postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic.
