23 y.o Mohammed Azim has been charged in court today, 11 January 2022, for his role in an armed robbery incident at a Minimart in Tampines.
The charge given to him was of one count of armed robbery with hurt.
Details of robbery
The alleged armed robbery happened at Blue Dot Minimart, along Tampines Street 71 on a Sunday afternoon.
In the process if the armed robbery, he had slashed the left knuckle of his victim, 78 y.o Mr Ang Teng Kok with the aid of a penknife.
Stolen items
Azim was alleged to have gotten a haul of items worth $243 from Mr Ang, and they include:
- A brown wallet
- Mr Ang’s identity card
- Mr Ang’s senior citizen’s Ez-link card with a value of about S$20
- An ATM card
- S$23 in cash
- A Huawei mobile phone with a value of about S$200
Police press release
The Singapore Police Force also released a press statement on Monday night saying that Azim had been arrested together with another 50 y.o unnamed man.
The arrest was done with the aid of Police cameras in the vicinity as well as the ground work which the Police put in through enquiries with members of the public, which led to the two men being identified.
Investigations into the case of armed robbery are still ongoing.
