A 24-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a traffic accident on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) on Apr. 12, 2024, at approximately 7:15am.
The incident took place on the AYE towards the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) after the Clementi Avenue 2 exit, involving a lorry and a motorcycle.
A video of the accident’s aftermath surfaced on a Telegram group around 11am, showcasing a significant emergency response presence. The footage revealed three police cars and eight officers on the first lane of the expressway, with officers holding up a white canvas.
Both the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed to Mothership that a 24-year-old male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.
According to the SPF, a lorry and a motorcycle were involved in the accident. A 46-year-old male lorry driver is currently assisting with ongoing police investigations.
