A 24-year-old Chinese man suspected of murdering a 16-year-old girl was brought to the Klang Magistrates Court today to face murder charges.
Li Weisheng (transliteration, unemployed) was taken by the police to the 4th Magistrate’s Court in Klang at 9:08 this morning. He was wearing a black T-shirt and knee-length shorts. The defendant said in court that he did not understand Malay language, so the court arranged for another Chinese interpreter to translate the charge into Chinese, and the defendant understood the charge.
According to the charge, the accused was found guilty of murdering a 16-year-old girl at 3.40am on June 26 in a single-storey terrace house in Kampung Idaman, Port Klang, resulting in her death. The accused violated Section 302 of the Penal Code (murder), which carries the death penalty if found guilty.
As the full autopsy report, chemical report, toxicology report and forensic report are still pending. In the end, Magistrate Amiru decided that the case would go to court on September 7.
According to earlier reports, a 16-year-old Chinese girl from Puchong, Selangor, went home with her 24-year-old Chinese boyfriend, and was suspected of being suffocated to death by her boyfriend being pressed against her face by a pillow during the dispute. After the incident, the suspect sought help from his family and called the police.
Police said the autopsy report of the female deceased showed that the cause of death was suffocation (lemas) by covering her face with something (ditekup). The police suspected that the murder weapon was the pillow in the room, so they took the pillow as evidence in the case.
