A 24 year old singaporean girl recently posted a dilemma after her husband to be stated that her husband to be would want 4-5 kids when they get married. She also stated that he is currently 38 years old and that he wouldn’t have an issue with having children. The issue was that this girl in mention did not want to have any kids at all.

24/F here. My bf is 38 years old this year and we have now been together for 2 years so it is about time for us to seriously consider our future together.
I’m quite career focused but my bf really likes kids. He even often jokes about having 10 kids and I am pretty sure he wants at least 4 or 5 at the very minimum. It’s like the more the merrier to him. That means I could be spending my late twenties and most of my thirties popping out kids, losing weight, cycle repeats.
Given my focus on career and my fear of pain I personally am even okay with not having kids at all. Not that I am opposed to having kids it is just I don’t see them as necessary. To my bf though he really wants a big family. He has even said before that kids is the reason to getting married if not what’s the difference from a serious relationship? There are long term relationships working better than many marriages and I can see his point which I think is valid.
I know kids are expensive but money isn’t really a big issue for us. As someone a bit older he has some savings and he also has a good job. I’m career focused myself but I’m also lucky enough that I actually don’t have to work.
How to reconcile this kids issue?
