A Malaysian woman who resides in Singapore as a permanent resident was caught leaving her home during MC in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak.
25-year-old Michelle Foo Shi Ching who was on MC went to Macpherson, Great World City Shopping Centre and meet 4 other friends for a movie. None of her friends knew that she was given MC and was required to stay at home.
Earlier today, Foo pleaded guilty in court to two charges.
When did it happen?
On July 14 2020, Foo felt ill and went to a clinic, she was diagnosed with an upper respiratory tract infection and was given 5 days MC, she was specifically told by the doctor not to leave her home unless there is a medical emergency.
On the 3rd day of her MC, she took her son to a pre-school and boarded her PHV to Macpherson Lane.
She then took another PHV to Gret Wrld City to meet 4 other people for a movie. She took a taxi home and went out again the next day at 3.30 AM to Macpherson Lane.
When she was caught, she denied all allegations. She was confronted with evidence of her leaving her home before she finally admitted to the offences.
Foo is facing up to 6 months jail and a fine of up to SGD$10,000 under the Infectious Diseases (Covid-19 Stay Orders) Regulations 2020.
Foo will be back in court on March 9 for her sentencing.
