A heartfelt fundraising appeal has been launched for Jomhao Veinthutheng, a 26-year-old maid who arrived in Singapore on January 9, 2023, to work as a caregiver for a local family. Jomhao has been diligently caring for the family’s elderly mother and her brother since her arrival, earning praise for her bubbly demeanor, hardworking nature, and unwavering dedication.

In a recent turn of events, Jomhao’s family faced displacement in Manipur in May 2023 due to unrest in the region. Despite the challenges, Jomhao continued to send a significant portion of her salary back home, showcasing her selflessness and concern for her family’s well-being as they sought to start anew.

Bleeding In Brain

Tragedy struck on December 28, 2023, when Jomhao fell ill and sought medical attention for severe headaches. Subsequent medical examinations revealed bleeding in her brain, leading to her hospitalization. Additionally, a lesion was discovered in her left lung, and as of now, doctors are grappling with the complexities of her condition, unable to provide a definitive diagnosis.

The situation took a critical turn on January 13, 2024, when Jomhao suffered a stroke, necessitating emergency surgery the following day to alleviate the pressure buildup in her brain.

Employer’s Financial Burden

Throughout this challenging period, the family has been doing its utmost to manage the financial burdens associated with Jomhao’s medical treatment. However, facing an uncertain future and escalating hospital expenses, a crowdfunding page has been set up to ensure that Jomhao receives the necessary medical care.

Additionally, sharing the fundraising page is encouraged to reach a wider audience. The family expresses deep gratitude for the support received, and their heartfelt wish is for good health and peace to prevail for all.

At the time of writing, the fundraising page has since raised about $23,212, still a long way to go from their goal of $150,000.
