
According to Singapore Customs, four Singaporean men were arrested after over 2980 cartons of contraband cigarettes were found.
CNB posted a post on Facebook stating:
” [Four arrested and more than 2,980 cartons of duty-unpaid cigarettes seized]
Singapore Customs arrested four Singaporean men, aged between 21 and 48, and seized more than 2,980 cartons of duty-unpaid cigarettes at a heavy vehicle carpark at Yishun Avenue 7 on 18 Jun 2021.
The total duty and Goods and Services tax evaded amounted to about $254,660 and $20,430 respectively. Two trucks were also seized in this operation. Court proceedings are ongoing against three men while investigations are ongoing against the fourth.“
