On July 2, 2020, the Police received information about alleged false automobile insurance claims made by two individuals, ages 25 and 26, who identified themselves as the passenger and driver, respectively.

The claims were related to a road traffic accident involving two motor vehicles that occurred on March 25, 2020, along Esplanade Drive, at the intersection with Collyer Quay and Fullerton Road.

According to investigations, a 31-year-old male was the real driver of one of the motor vehicles and was not in possession of a valid driver’s license at the time of the collision. He reportedly subsequently hired the 26-year-old guy to falsely identify himself as the driver.

The latter then enlisted the 25-year-old male as his ostensible passenger, and both filed bogus injury claims.
