A 3-year-old girl from Singapore died from a COvid-19 infection on Tuesday, becoming the third child below 12 years old here to die from the coronavirus.
The Ministry of Health said on 13 August that the girl had tested positive for the infection on 9 August, and was conveyed to the hospital on 13 August.
They added that the girl died from an anoxic brain injury or lack of oxygen to the brain due to a cardiac arrest and Covid-19.
MOH added that the girl had a history of several medical conditions before her Covid infection.
A total of 1,604 deaths from Covid has been recorded in Singapore since the pandemic started 2 years ago, and we have a total of 1.8 million cases.
About 56,953 cases were reported over the last 28 days, of which 99.7 of the infections had mild or no symptoms, and 0.03% of the infections died (15 people).
97% of Singapore’s population who are eligible, have been fully vaccinated, while 80% had gotten their booster shots.
