
Close to 30 women were arrested for committing offenses under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act after a police raid which happened on Nov 11.

The raids on Wednesday (Nov 11) were part of a joint enforcement operation led by the Central Police Division involving enforcement officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).

One of the outlets which breached Covid-19 regulations was found to have also violated liquor license conditions and eight people were investigated for allegedly gathering in a group of more than five individuals.

Police investigations are ongoing.
Stringent action will be taken against these operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Liquor Control Act 2015, Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020 and Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.
The police said it will continue to take tough enforcement action against illegal activities and those found engaging in such activities will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
