A pair of insurance brokers, 30 year old married man and a 22 year old woman were doing door to door sales at the HDB estate in Compassvale Link when an incident happened.
The process of the alleged incident
The man allegedly decided to pull the woman to him, so much so that she ended up on his lap.
He then attempted to forcefully kiss the girl as well as slip his hands inside her bra, groping her breasts in the process.
Five minutes later as they were taking the lift down, the man did it again this time forcing himself on the girl and attempting to force more kisses on her.
In a third incident as they were reaching the parking lot, he kissed her again without her permission and then groped her breasts again.
Police findings from interrogation
The man did not deny his doings to the police but told the police that they were having an affair and they also did have sex four months ago before the incident.
He accused the woman of making a false police report as she has found a new boyfriend and was afraid that her boyfriend will find out about their affair.
She admitted to having sex with the man but said that it was a one off thing.
She felt guilty after having sex with the man and decided to avoid him.
She claims that she has text message evidence between them to prove this.
The verdict
The judge reviewed all the evidence presented to him and said that despite the fact that the man did no plead guilty, he had admitted to assaulting the woman.
CCTV footage showed that when he tried to kiss the woman, the woman did turn her head away from him and also tried to avoid him.
All these added to the testimony given by the woman, the judge said that it is obvious that there was no consent given to the kiss.
The judge eventually ruled that the man had criminal intention and convicted him of his doings.
The man appealed the judge’s findings and therefore the sentence is delayed to 13 September after the court hears and considers his appeal.
