According to the Police media release, a 31-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of aggravated outrage of modesty.
Sembawang Road
On 6 April 2022 at about 8.55pm, the Police received a report that a woman was molested by an unknown man at a restaurant located along Sembawang Road.
Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of Police cameras, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within three hours of the report incident.
Potential Penalties
The man will be charged in court on 8 April 2022 with the offence of aggravated outrage of modesty under Section 354A(1) of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of not less than two years and not more than ten years, and with caning.
The Police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the safety of the community. They will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law.
