Last year in February, a man was found dead along the MRT tracks near Kallang MRT.
The State Coroner has released the findings on the reason why the man had taken his life.
Drugs
Just days before the incident, the 31-year-old Bangladeshi national, Ahmed Faisa was arrested for drugs and on the day he was supposed to receive his sentence he did not turn up to court.
The state coroner said that substances such as methamphetamine, eutylone, and amphetamine was found in his system.
The cause of death was due to injuries from a train collision.
The man was arrested more than once for drugs in Nov 2018 and 19 February 2021. The man was supposed to turn up to court for his sentencing on Feb 25 but he went missing.
The man was run over by a train near Kallang MRT station on the East-West Line towards Pasir Ris. At about 9pm, a train captain reported hitting an object near Kallang MRT station. Our station manager was sent on track and found a motionless man, about 150 metres from Kallang MRT station.
TODAY news reported that Faisal’s friend noticed that he was behaving abnormally prior to the incident
