
According to a media release, a 32-year-old woman was arrested for drink driving on the 31 May 2020. The incident happened at Toa Payoh Lor 2 at 9.20 pm.
The woman was seen crashing her car into the central divider in the middle of the road. The impact of the crash had caused the car to be badly damaged. An ambulance was spotted on the scene. The woman was able to walk after the accident but was sent to the hospital for further treatment.
Investigation is ongoing.
According to the law, anyone convicted of drink driving will face a penalty of maximum 1-year imprisonment or fine up to $10,000 or both. They will be banned from driving for a minimum period of 2 years.
For repeat offenders, if convicted they will face a penalty of maximum 2-year imprisonment or fine up to $20,000 or both They will be banned from driving for a minimum period of 5 years.
