33 Y.O ARRESTED FOR “CHAUFFEUR JOB” SCAM ASKED VICTIMS SIGN TELCO LINES

According to a Police media release, a 33-year-old man was arrested for suspected in a series of job scams.

The victims were reportedly directed to send over cash in the amount of $200 as part of the job’s administrative fees. The victims were allegedly urged to purchase a mobile phone, sign up for telco lines, and give over the acquired phone to the guy for use in the chauffeur job that they had been promised, and they were assured that the money paid would be repaid.

When the victims were not given jobs, monetary compensation, or their phones back, they would realize they had been duped.

Officers from the Clementi Police Division identified the ma and detained him on January 17, 2022, as a

Preliminary investigations found that he is suspected of being engaged in other similar job scams.

The man was charged yesterday (Jan 18) for cheating, if he is found guilty of the offence, he can be jailed up to 10 years with a fine.
