34 Y.O MAN PRETENDED TO BE POLICE OFFICER TO STEAL FROM HIS VICTIM

A 34-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of impersonating a police officer to steal from others.

The incident happened on 07 Jan 2021 around 10.30 pm, the man approached his victim at the back alley of Rowell Road. He then identifies himself as a police officer and asked his victim to surrender his mobile phone in the pretext of conducting checks.

He then told his victim to collect the phone at a police station located in Tanjong Pagar on 11 Jan 2021. The victim later realised that he was cheated and lodged a police report on 13 Jan 2021.

After investigations, the police managed to identify the man’s identity and arrested him on 15 Jan 2021. The man was charged in court on 16 Jan 2021, if convicted, the man could be jailed for up to two years and fine.
