In an incident that took place at a HDB estate in Sengkang, a 37-year-old man was arrested for carrying a knife on the afternoon of October 5th, at Block 445A Fernvale Road, according to Shin Min Daily News.
A Dispute Leads to a Disturbing Discovery
The incident unfolded at approximately 5 pm when the police received an alert regarding a dispute at Block 445A Fernvale Road.
The cause of the dispute was reported to be an argument between the 37-year-old man and his wife at their residence within the estate. However, this disagreement took a disturbing turn when the man allegedly left his home armed with a knife.
A Knife on the Streets
Once outside, the man began walking around the vicinity, including the area near a kindergarten. This sudden and dangerous act raised concerns among the residents and passersby.
The situation became even more unsettling when it was reported that the man’s 36-year-old wife had sustained minor injuries during the initial argument.
Police officers soon arrived at the scene and arrested the man, and a knife believed to be in the possession of the man was seized. This knife was found near the kindergarten.
Adding to the tension, it was revealed that at least one of the couple’s two children was attending the nearby kindergarten. This raised concerns about the safety of the children and further emphasized the need for a quick and effective response from the authorities.
Police response
Residents and onlookers observed a significant police presence at the scene. Approximately six police vehicles and numerous officers were dispatched to handle the situation, reflecting the seriousness of the incident.
The man was eventually escorted into a police car at approximately 7:40 pm, putting an end to the alarming situation. However, the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
