3,743 NEW CASES IN SPORE, LOWEST COUNT IN TWO MONTHS


The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reported a total of 3,743 new cases on 3 April 2022 with four fatalities. The cases reported today is the lowest since 2 Feb, which is two months ago.

Case details

Of the 3,743 new cases, 3,674 are local cases.

The remaining 69 are imported cases.

Of the cases today, 3,178 cases are low risk and detected via ART test while 565 cases are detected via PCR.

The 3,178 ART positive cases consist of 3,118 local cases and 60 imported cases while the 565 PCR positive cases consist of 556 local cases and nine imported cases.

The bulk majority of Singapore’s cases today are under the Protocol 2 status, which represents that they are well or assessed with mild conditions.

Patients in Hospitals

507 patients are currently in hospitals according to MOH’s latest infection statistics.

Out of those currently in hospitals, 56 patients require supplementary oxygen and 21 patients are in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Weekly infection growth rate

The weekly infection growth rate is now at 0.66, 0.01 higher than Saturday’s 0.65

This rate refers to the ratio of community cases of the past week as compared to the week before.

A rate above 1 indicates that weekly cases are on the rise, while a rate below 1 indicates that the cases are falling.

Vaccination status

As of 3 April 2022, 95 percent of the population in Singapore eligible for vaccination have completed the full vaccination regime under the National Vaccination Programme.

72 percent of those who are eligible for vaccination have also received their booster jabs.

Total toll

The four fatalities reported today brings the death toll in Singapore to 1,276 and the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic is now at 1,109,744.
