40 YEAR OLD ARRESTED FOR HOUSEBREAKING AND THEFT AT SERANGOON

According to the Police media release, a 40-year-old man was arrested on the 2 May 2020 for his suspected involvement in a case of theft and housebreaking.

The incident occurred on the 1st of May 2020, the Police said they received a report at around 9.30 AM to a case of housebreaking along Serangoon North Avenue 1.

Items such as laptop, tablets and about $40 of cash were stolen from the property.

The Police were able to identify the man with the aid of Police CCTV footages and arrested him on the same day.

The man was charged in court on the 2nd of May 2020 under Section 458A of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 (Housebreaking and theft). If he is found guilty, he will be facing up to 10 years of jail, a fine and the rotan.

The Police has also advised members of the public to not store large sums of cash at home and secure all entry points of your home.
