MOM has fined 42 companies for breaching safety management measures since September last year.
Most of the companies have been fined for the same reason which is, having their employee returned to the office to work even though they are able to work from home.
In September last year, MOM has loosened down the ruling for safety measures for the workplace.
On 22 January 2021, MOM said that no changes will be made towards the safety measures as of now.
To make sure companies are following the rules, MOM staff have been inspecting workplaces since last year September when restrictions are lessened.
There are more than 5,000 workplaces being checked from last year September to this year January. Out of these 5,000 companies, 42 were caught with non-obligation of the safety measures and fined.
MOM has also said that they will continue inspections of workplaces.
