The said incident in this post happened on Monday (17 Jan), where a 42 year old man was taken to the hospital after the container truck which he was driving overturned while he was trying to move the vehicle out of the small road which he had entered.
The truck’s windshield was smashed as a result of the whole vehicle overturning and landing on its side.
Police are currently investigating the case which it said that they were alerted to around 12.20pm on 17 Jan 2022, at Block 760 of Bedok Reservoir View.
Passerby witnessed the whole incident
According to the Straits Times, a passerby known as Mr Sam Wu was having lunch at the coffeeshop with his parents when he witnessed the truck overturning.
He added that the driver did not seem to have sustained any major injuries except for getting his back hurt and getting some cuts and had appeared to be in a shock from the whole incident.
No other vehicles and people were near the truck when it overturned and therefore no one else was hurt from the accident.
Road closed
The road was closed from 4pm as a result of the accident, which blocked off entry and exit to the estate at Bedok Reservoir View.
The truck was only lifted at about 7:30pm but the road remained closed even after it was lifted.
Sent to hospital
The driver, who is believed to be a foreign worker, was sent to hospital at about 12:30pm when the ambulance arrived.
People present at the scene were seen working together to help control the traffic and provide assistance to the driver by speaking to his bosses or clients.
